Women’s Outreach
When Christian women reach out to Muslim women, they have the opportunity to build meaningful bridges of friendship that can lead to deep connections, understanding, and mutual respect. In a world where religious and cultural differences often cause division, these relationships create space for empathy and shared experiences, showing the power of Christ’s love in action.
Along with many of our staff, our women’s outreach is coordinated by a Muslim Background Believer who deeply understands both the curiosity Muslim women have about Christian women and the hesitation many Christian women feel in connecting with someone of another faith. Time and again, we’ve seen how something as simple as hospitality can break down barriers.
Instead of hosting traditional larger conferences on “women reaching women,” we prefer to model small, intimate gatherings where Christian women first learn about Islam, then come together with Muslim women—sometimes through activities like cooking—to discover how much they share.
Helping Christian women “find their outreach voice” is crucial, as Muslim women are often more open to forming trusting friendships with Christian women than men. For those who leave Islam to follow Christ, these friendships become lifelines, providing support and safety in their journey of faith.
Safe House Network
As a Muslim comes to faith in Christ, often there is no shortage of difficulty, even physical violence. This is especially true for new believer women, teens, and children.
Crescent Project has identified the need for both a network of “safe houses” and a coordinated, centralized system to relocate those who are fearing for their safety. This centralized system does not currently exist outside of Crescent Project. There are stages to this process for the safety of those involved. It begins with local resources and often law enforcement, but when that fails, our network is ready to act quickly.
Funding for this urgently needed effort provides essential staffing, communication and training resources, the networking required to onboard churches in the U.S. and potentially Europe, and the technology required for high level coordination of this effort.
