Why reach Muslims
Christ-followers are commanded to make disciples of all peoples. We now know precisely how many people groups are left to reach in the world to “finish the task.” There has never been a generation with this kind of knowledge, access to transportation and technology. You are alive “for such a time as this!” In all the Unreached world, Muslims are the largest target for sharing the love of God.
Within the 3.4 billion “unreached” and “underreached” people groups on Earth, Muslims comprise 56%. Islam is the fastest-growing major religion in the world, growing at 2.9% annually, whereas the number of Christians globally is growing at a rate of 2.3%.
Muslims matter to God, therefore Muslims matter to Christ-followers!
The dedication of most Muslims to the practices of prayer, fasting, and hospitality is highly recognizable, yet Islam offers no solution to sin, no pathway for forgiveness and no assurance of eternity in heaven.
Those raised in Islam have heard of the Christian faith, but only a version that is quite different from the one we Christ-followers practice. Mohammad included the necessity of reading the “Injeel” for his followers, however, many Muslims have been led to believe that it has been corrupted. In the past 20 years, after dreams where Jesus appears or when the Injeel is read and understood, “more Muslims have come to faith in Christ Jesus than the previous 1,400 years combined.” (Fouad Masri)
Crescent Project exists so that Jesus would be made famous through all the earth, especially among our Muslim “cousins.” Our ministry engages all sorts of “unreached peoples” through efforts to share the hope we have in the Savior. However, by using the “net” instead of the “lure,” we statistically are seeing engagement among more Muslims than any other unreached people group.
Total Unreached People: 3.4 Billion
56% of the Unreached are Muslim
One in four are Muslim
Giving to fulfill the Great Commission and Great Commandment of every dollar giving to ministry by Christians in the U.S.:
Funds
87% of all funds given to ministry go toward ministries among those already Christian.
12% goes toward work among already evangelized, but non-Christian.
1% goes toward work among the unevangelized and unreached people.
