Embassy: Our Digital Door to the Muslim World!

When Samantha joined Crescent Project’s Embassy ministry, she hoped to build a friendship with a Muslim lady inside the Muslim-majority world. After receiving our initial training, she signed into a language exchange app and sent a message to a college student named Anam, who quickly responded. Anam’s English was good and they scheduled a video call. One call led to another. By the end of the month, Samantha was discussing the Bible with this young Muslim, who had been struggling with anxiety.

Embassy has 435 volunteers, called Ambassadors, around the world. They have one thing in common—they want to see Muslims come to faith in Christ. Most are not missionaries or pastors. They come from the local church. Together they are connected online to more than 2,500 Muslims who, for the first time:

  • can get to know a follower of Jesus,

  • are recipients of personal prayer for them and their families, and

  • more often than not, will have the chance to read the Bible with their new Embassy friend.

Our goal for the next year, and in the years ahead, is to radically expand our global reach with Muslims—men and women, boys and girls, who might otherwise be unreachable because of political, spiritual, and geographic barriers. Our vision to see tens of thousands of our members engaged in gospel conversations. This goal is both exciting and overwhelming. Digital outreach demands continuous adaptation and resourcefulness, balancing growth with personal engagement and continual discipleship.

Some of our Ambassadors enter digital neighborhoods where Muslims are looking for friendship, connection, or help practicing English. Others are part of our Embassy Outreach Initiative in Jordan and in Turkey, in which we ask Muslims if they would like to practice English by reading and discussing the Bible with a Christian. More than 100 Jordanians have said Yes! Using a set of creation-to-Christ stories, Embassy Ambassadors meet virtually with them weekly.

Still other Ambassadors are active in public forums, where they share their thoughts and the gospel with Muslims who are reading along. There are hundreds of ways to connect online.

Here is how one Ambassador describes her experience:

God has drawn my heart to a particular region of the world and broken down the resistance I’d initially put up. Last night I sent several messages out and this morning most had replied, eager to get to know me and to practice English. I can’t even describe the joy that is filling my heart!

Hundreds of thousands of Muslims are online looking to make connections and friendships. Our hope is that they find a follower of Jesus. With your loving and prayerful support, more and more of them are doing just that.
