‹ Back | Our History | Beliefs & FAQs | To Our Muslim Friends
Millions of Muhammad's followers have been taught that Jesus was no more than a prophet and that He never died on the cross.
Millions don’t understand that Jesus was (and is) our divine Savior. These millions desperately need hope.
Crescent Project’s heart and mission is to see every Muslim have an opportunity to respond to the Gospel and be connected to a true follower of Jesus.
Crises in the Middle East and in Afghanistan have forced millions out of their homes and brought them within arms reach of believers in the United States and Europe, creating opportunities for connection like never before.
God is at work, but what happens next?
Will Muslims continue to live without hope? Or will believers step up to the call and make disciples of all nations?
Crescent Project is working to mobilize God’s people. Our goal is to come alongside the church, address fears and knowledge gaps, and provide practical steps to help Christians move toward their Muslim neighbors.
The mission can’t wait. Millions of people are in need of a Savior.
History
Crescent Project was founded in 1993 by Fouad Masri to equip Christians to reach out to the Muslim community. Because of his experience as a Lebanese student living in the U.S., he realized that internationals in America often have many unmet needs. Crescent Project was founded to prepare American Christians to reach out to the growing Muslim community in North America and beyond.
Most Muslim ministries have focused on sending full-time missionaries overseas to Middle Eastern countries. Crescent Project has used an entirely different approach, training the local church to reach out to the Muslims in their own communities, expanded development and trainings throughout Europe, church planting in the top four, most Muslim dense countries, digital outreach that equips Christ followers to become online missionaries, direct relief for Muslim refugees, disaster relief in Muslim countries, and aiding persecuted Christians suffering at the hands of Muslims. Crescent Project has equipped over 400,000 Christ followers around the world in 96 countries in the past 10 years.
Our vision is to see a day when fear is replaced with love, and millions of Christians are actively sharing the truth of Christ with millions of Muslims for the glory of God. Our approach to witnessing is to serve as ambassadors for Jesus to our Muslim friends (2 Cor. 5:20), trusting in the sovereignty of God and the Holy Spirit’s power to draw and awaken them to the truth of Christ. We believe in taking the initiative, sharing the love of Christ, and proclaiming the Gospel truth in thought, word, and deed.
About Fouad Masri
Author and lecturer, Fouad Masri, was born and raised in the war zone of Beirut, Lebanon. As a third-generation ordained pastor, he has a passion for sharing the love of Christ with Muslims and has been reaching out to Muslims and inspiring others to follow his example since 1979.
After coming to the United States to attend seminary, Fouad realized the urgency for teaching American Christians to reach out to the growing population of internationals, particularly Muslims.
In 1993, he founded Crescent Project to nurture transformational relationships between Christians and Muslims and to rally the Church to reach out to Muslims to share the Good News of Christ.
Since then, he has trained more than 400,000 Christians to share their faith sensitively and purposefully with Muslims through many resources and training events.
